2 killed in I-57 rollover crash

CHICAGO — Two people were killed in a rollover crash on I-57 early Wednesday morning.The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on northbound I-57 near 99th Street. Illinois State Police responded for a single-vehicle crash after the car spun put and struck a light pole. According to ISP, there were three occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. A man was confirmed dead on the scene.Another man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in grave condition, where he was pronounced dead. A woman was transported to the same hospital in serious condition.Their identities have not yet been released.As of 7 a.m., the northbound lanes were back open at 111th Street after being closed for several hours Wednesday morning.The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.Hyundai and Kia recall nearly 3.4 million vehicles over fire risk, urge owners to park outdoors

DETROIT (AP) — Hyundai and Kia are recalling nearly 3.4 million vehicles in the U.S. and telling owners to park them outside due to the risk of engine compartment fires.The recalls cover multiple car and SUV models from the 2010 through 2019 model years including Hyundai's Santa Fe SUV and Kia's Sorrento SUV.Documents posted Wednesday by the U.S. U.S. safety regulators say the anti-lock brake control module can leak fluid and cause an electrical short, which can touch off a fire while the vehicles are parked or being driven.The automakers are advising owners to park outdoors and away from structures until repairs are done.Dealers will replace the anti-lock brake fuse at no cost to owners. Kia says in documents that it will send notification letters to owners starting Nov. 14. (KTLA) - A 50-year-old coach with a youth football league in Riverside County, California, was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly hit a 14-year-old boy who was playing for the opposing team in the face, authorities said Tuesday. Officers with the Murrieta Police Department responded to Vista Murrieta High School at around 5:40 p.m. on Sept. 23 after receiving calls about the incident at the recreational youth tackle football league game, police said in a news release.
