The prospect of a five-mile elevated bikeway running along Summit Avenue — the longest continuous stretch of Victorian homes in the nation — has prompted at least a third of the 30 candidates for St. Paul City Council to speak out against the plans, which were approved by the council in May despite opponents’ concerns about potential impacts to trees, parking and aesthetics.Seven candidates from the city’s seven political wards gathered Wednesday at Cochran Park by Western and Summit avenues for a speak-out. QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The town of Queensbury is working out a new comprehensive plan for projects, policies, and more. Following a recent community survey, this week the town announced an upcoming workshop for those who want to know more. (NEWS10) -- The Department of Motor Vehicles has made it easier for New York residents to complete the REAL ID and Enhanced ID applications without the need for repeat trips to a DMV office. The expanded online pre-screening tool allows applicants to submit the application, proof of identification, and residency documents to the DMV before visiting an office. JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 56-year-old male from Fulton County was arrested on Tuesday on charges including welfare fraud in the fourth degree. Police say Willard Bishop Jr. fraudulently obtained over $2,246 in benefits from the Fulton County Department of Social Services. ST. LOUIS - Winterfest, a growing St. Louis holiday tradition, will return soon for its eighth annual celebration. The "Festival of Lights" and ice skating are the big draws for this year's Winterfest events and activities.
