Keeler: CU Buffs receiver Omarion Miller sealed place in Boulder lore with kiss from Michael Irvin and love from Michael Westbrook. “Y’all haven’t seen nothing yet.”

BOULDER — That puppy just became a dawg.“Incredible player!” Michael Irvin told me, loud and proud, as we walked off Folsom Field together Saturday. “Incredible player.”After a few steps, the three-time Super Bowl champ and Pro Football Hall of Famer crept up behind that incredible player, sight unseen. Then he pulled CU freshman wide receiver Omarion Miller close, like a cheeky uncle, and kissed that dawg straight on the helmet.“Big-time players make big-time plays in big moments,” Irvin, the former Miami Hurricanes All-American, said to the teen from Louisiana. “And that was (big).”Was it ever. You know how you’ve found a star? When they make the freaking impossible look routine. Then they go out and top it.With 1:26 left in the third quarter, Buffs down 27 and trying not to get Oregon-ed again, the 6-foot-2 freshman beat USC’s Jacobe Covington in a dead sprint up the left boundary, reached out with his left arm whil...

Kickin’ It with Kiz: No-hopers. Broncos surrender 70 points. Rockies lose 100 games. What’s worse?

Published Wed, 26 Feb 2025 14:04:44 GMT

The Broncos losing 70-20 irks me more than 100 losses by the Rockies, because at least the Broncos have the talent to prevent that kind of debacle. While really bad, 100 L’s are the product of greedy Rockies management that won’t give the team the talent it needs to compete.Ed, DenverKiz: It’s a week of Colorado sports that will live in infamy. The Broncos got Josephed. As a wise (acre) friend told me, 10 touchdowns are a lot in any NFL game, especially when they are scored by one team. Even worse: Lost in the darkness, our Pet Rocks stumble home from Coors Field to a basement apartment with no windows in McGregor Square. I’m confident, however, the crazy-rich Waltons will do whatever it takes to return the Broncos to football glory. Rockies owner Dick Monfort? I wouldn’t give him five bucks and trust him to return home with a can of SpaghettiOs.What irks me is Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph has more lives than a Stephen King cat. How and wh...
