Menacing moose moves into courtyard at Steamboat Springs apartment complex, causing concern for some residents STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The center courtyard at Mountain Village Apartments is normally a place where residents can walk their dogs or visit with neighbors as they make their way to the parking areas. That was before a moose moved into the area for a few days last week. One resident in the apartments said the moose has been lunging at people as they make their way through the courtyard, causing concern because the pathways that crisscross the area are frequently used by residents, children and pet owners. The resident reported that several neighbors had even reached out to the Steamboat Springs Police Department’s dispatch but were told there was little that could be done.“We understand this is moose territory and the ski mountain has made life hard for them especially during this heavy winter,” the resident wrote in an email to the Steamboat Pilot & Today on Friday, March 31. “But for the moose to linger like this has been nerve-racking.”Read more at our partner, the Glenwood Springs...

The chic and rustic cottage is famous for its romantic patio setting and charming little bar. I am, of course, talking about the mighty Prince.I grew up in a small village in South Wales and had been a fan of His Royal Badness since ‘When Doves Cry’ hit the UK charts back in the golden year of 1984 but it wasn’t until he came to Wembley Arena in London, England in 1990 that I got to see him with my own eyes. Prince had not long ago released the ‘Batman’ album and was heading out on the NUDE tour, which was essentially a ‘greatest hits’ show. The arena was decked out with yellow and purple balloons and when the lights went down my mind was blown. Prince made his entrance on top of the stage left PA column, backlit as he sang ‘The Future’. Express lane critics detail their frustrations: Roadshow

Express lane critics detail their frustrations: Roadshow Q: Toll and express lane signage is a mess on Interstates 880 and 680. Recently I drove from San Jose to Richmond and back on 880, with a passenger in the car. I was busy watching traffic and trying to read the signs. The passenger, also a licensed driver, read signs and helped me interpret them. My FasTrak Flex was set to 2.After that drive, I have no idea if I have tolls to pay, and if so, how much, or whether I violated rules and will be charged a penalty. Signs say HOV is 3+ occupancy. They do not say whether a non-HOV car can drive in express lanes at some toll rate, or is not allowed. Tolls are posted on lighted signs at intervals, but some are out. No signs mention whether the toll is for HOV only or for non-HOV, also. The only way to be sure of not violating some rule is to stay out of the express lanes completely. This whole scheme penalizes poor people and serves those who are wealthy enough not to care about charges, overcharges, or penalties.Marilyn Sander, CampbellA: If...

It is what he set out to do since he was 5 years old. But time comes for everyone, and it almost came for Crawford this past offseason. His contract is up after this season an...
