HUNTER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Saturday afternoon, Forest Rangers and Twin Clove Rescue responded to the report of an injured hiker on Plateau Mountain. Ranger Rusher reached the hiker at 7:30 p.m. The hiker communicated that they were dealing with nausea, lethargy, sleepiness, and cramping. They were provided with electrolytes and fluids.After eating and resting, rescue crews helped to hiker walk to the Notch Lake trailhead. Upon arrival at the trailhead at 10:30 p.m., EMS crews determined that no further medical care was required. The Centerville Cedar Grove Fire, Kingston Fire, Lanesville Fire, Palenville Fire, Hunter Police, Hunter Ambulance, and Greene County EMS all assisted in the rescue efforts.3-year-old rescued in Herkimer County wilderness search

WEBB, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 3-year-old was rescued in the Town of Webb on Monday around 1:18 p.m. According to the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), a volunteer searcher and family friend reached the boy and brought him to his parents. The DEC says 10 forest rangers joined the search for a missing 3-year-old in the area of Otter Lake on the border of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. New York State Police also used a drone and K9 to support the effort.A passerby alerted 911 after seeing a child at a camp across Lake View Road. At that time, one of the volunteer searchers, who happened to be a family friend, called the boy's name and reached him at 1:18 p.m. The boy was brought back to his parents. BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- The Chief Medical Examiner's Office has completed its autopsy regarding Darrel Jones, who died while in custody at the Bennington Police Department on March 23. Police say Jones died of an accident caused by a mix of drug intoxication, including fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine. An investigation by the Vermont State Police concluded Jones had drugs concealed in his person when he was taken into custody by the Bennington Police Department. James Sims was charged Monday following an investigation by the department. LOUIS – An off-duty Berkeley police officer shot a man Monday afternoon outside a bar in north St. Louis City.According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just before 4:50 p.m. outside the Speakeasy Bar, located in the 5500 block of West Florissant Avenue, in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.The 62-year-old off-duty officer was inside the bar when he heard a loud crash outside the building. A snowmobiler who got lost on Vail Pass Sunday afternoon was rescued in an interagency effort, according to a release from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.“On May 14 at approximately 2:25 pm the Vail Communications Center received a call from the friend of a snowmobiler who was ‘lost in a bad way’ on Vail Pass,” the release states. “The snowmobiler only had 3% of their cell phone battery left when they were able to utilize the ‘share my location’ function with their friend.
