(KRON) -- A five-year-old girl who died after being swept out to sea in Half Moon Bay Saturday afternoon has been identified as Naretzi Navarrete of Merced.The girl was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead, according to U.S. Coast Guard officials. Coastal flood advisory issued for parts of Bay Area A 54-year-old man who has only been identified as the girl's grandfather was also swept out to sea. Rescue teams spent almost 24 hours searching a 100-square-mile area for the man before eventually suspending the search on Sunday.The girl and her grandfather were at Martins Beach in Half Moon Bay when the incident occurred.This is a developing story. (KRON) -- A woman who fatally struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk early Sunday had two kids in the vehicle, according to the San Jose Police Department. SJPD patrol officers responded to a hit-and-run report at around 12:34 a.m. Sunday in the area of the Capitol Expressway and Bluefield Drive.An investigation determined that a white 2016 Range Rover SUV was being driven by a woman and occupied by two juvenile passengers. The SUV was headed east on the Capitol Expressway when it hit a man who was crossing southbound. The man was in a marked crosswalk, police said. Police are looking for two people linked to two separate shootings that led to a man and woman being shot and seven nearby Maryland schools to modify their security.The first shooting happened around 11:45 a.m. Monday on Lost Knife Circle, near Montgomery Village Middle School, Watkins Mill Elementary, Stedwick Elementary and Whetstone Elementary, Montgomery County police said. DENVER (KDVR) -- An attempted stop by Denver Police Department officers Monday ended with a person shot and taken to the hospital, according to police.The incident happened after 1:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Oneida Street.
