(NEXSTAR) - A salmonella outbreak that has sickened people in 11 states is renewing a call from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: stop eating raw cookie dough. The agency confirmed last week it has launched an investigation into the outbreak, noting 12 illnesses have been reported. Three individuals have required hospitalization. "The true number of sick people in this outbreak is likely much higher than the number reported, and the outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses," the CDC warned. So far, these states have each reported one case of an individual being infected with the salmonella outbreak strain: California, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, and Virginia. Illinois has reported two cases. CDC investigators say illnesses were confirmed between early December 2022 and mid-February 2023. AUSTIN (Nexstar) -- After unprecedented demand exhausted $96 million set aside to help Texas renters, The Texas Rent Relief Program says it is able to assist 10,400 people in need.The program received more than 100,000 applications in the first 28 hours after the portal opened. The demand forced the program to close applications just 52 hours after opening, 12 days days earlier than planned."With an extraordinary number of applications submitted and very limited funding available, TRR is not able to assist everyone," Kristina Tirloni with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs said. The St. Paul Saints are moving this week’s home opener back one day, to Wednesday, citing the March 31 storm that dumped nine inches of snow onto CHS Field and the forecast for a 90 percent chance for more snow and rain on Tuesday.Tuesday’s scheduled home opener between the Saints and the visiting Iowa Cubs will now be part of a Saturday doubleheader, with the first game beginning at 1:07 p.m.The teams will now start their six-game series at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday. SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Highland woman is in critical condition following a two-car crash on Route 9W that occurred Friday morning. Responding officers located a 2018 GMC Sierra and a 2008 Ford Taurus, both heavily damaged. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! According to police, Suzanne E. Mann, 48, was found trapped and unconscious inside the Ford Taurus. Firefighters from the Glasco Fire Department managed to extricate Mann. She received treatment from the DIAZ Ambulance before being flown to the Albany Medical Center, where she is undergoing surgery.The GMC Sierra was found abandoned. Police located the driver, Alfredo M. Martinez, 45, hiding at his residence in the Town of Saugerties. Martinez had sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.
