Surveillance cameras captured the frightening moment when a woman was harassed and threatened by an apparent homeless man who followed her into a Subway sandwich shop, where store employees watched the incident unfold without attempting to help her. The incident occurred in mid-March, at around 3 p.m., at a Subway sandwich location in Culver City. A nurse from Long Beach, Halima Othman, said she first spotted the man outside the store on Sepulveda Boulevard, near Venice Boulevard, about a block away from a homeless encampment under the freeway overpass. “This man says some things to me and then he starts talking about a hitman, I owe him money, he called me Carol or something, and I was like, ‘This man is deranged,’” Othman told KTLA. When she went into the Subway to order food, she noticed that the man had followed her inside the store. “So, I’m backing up into a corner and I'm like, ‘What do you want from me? I don’t have anything for you.’ He’s calli...Missy, Willie and George Michael among Rock Hall inductees

A security guard who allegedly shot and killed a young man at a San Francisco Walgreens store last week won’t face charges related to the case, according to prosecutors. Police had arrested the 33-year-old guard after the shooting, at 6:33 p.m. Thursday near Market and Fourth streets. Banko Brown, 24, was found on the sidewalk and was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. On Monday, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said evidence reviewed by her office “clearly shows that the suspect believed he was in mortal danger and acted in self-defense.” “We reviewed witness statements, statements from the suspect, and video footage of the incident, and it does not meet the People’s burden to be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury that the suspect is guilty of a crime,” Jenkins said in an emailed statement Monday night. The police have not released any details of the encounter other than to say it apparently inv...Latest news
