OAKLAND — Two of the most powerful people within the secretive and violent Nuestra Familia prison gang have been sentenced to 14-and-a-half years in federal prison after admitting to involvement in conspiracies to kill subordinate gang members across California, court records show.Samuel Luna, 48, and Antonio Guillen, 58, were both sentenced by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers to 175 months in federal prison. Both men pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy involving murder plots that authorities say were only thwarted because federal investigators were secretly listening as the two talked on their contraband prison cellphones. Both men are already serving life in state prison for violent crimes, but federal prosecutors hope the federal prison sentence will isolate them and inhibit their influence over the Nuestra Familia, a prison gang that runs the massive network of Norteño gangs in Northern and Central California.Guillen, according to authorities, is one of thre...Former A's pitcher retires, blasts owner John Fisher in video

The team announced a potential move to Las Vegas in April. May's rant against Fisher continued for two minutes. H...5 accused of SF Walgreens wagon heist plead not guilty

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — President Joe Biden will travel to Jordan on Wednesday to meet with Arab leaders following his trip to Israel as concerns increase that the raging Israel-Hamas war could expand into a larger regional conflict.White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday evening that Biden would go to Jordan where he would meet with King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. “We’ve been crystal clear about the need for humanitarian aid to be able to continue to flow into Gaza. That has been a consistent call by President Biden and certainly by this entire administration,” Kirby said. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Biden’s travel to Israel as the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip grows more dire and as Israel prepares for a possible ground attack on the 141-square-mile (365-square-kilometer) territory to root out Hamas militants responsible for what U.S. and Israeli official...Lions’ road to success this season paved with wins away from home

That’s a mindset — going on the road and it is just you against the other t...Cowboys and Chargers players engage in pregame scuffle before Monday night’s game

Arizona has been outscored 51-12 in the second half during their current three-game losing streak.“It’s hard as hell to win an NFL football game, man,” Cardinals defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter said Sunday. That’s particularly true for the rebuilding Cardinals, who don’t have a ton of talent to cover up mistakes.Joshua Dobbs struggled, completing 21 of 41 passes for 235 yards and had two turnovers in the fourth quarter, including an interception and a lost fumble.
