Denver City Council on Monday was expected to approve a pair of $125,000 payments to settle lawsuits — one alleging that a police officer broke a man’s wrist during an arrest and the other accusing an officer of hitting a car while driving the wrong way.Attorneys representing Michael McCormack filed a lawsuit against Denver police officer Vincent Talty after McCormack claimed that Talty unnecessarily twisted his arm and broke his right wrist during a trespassing arrest on July 4, 2018.The lawsuit says McCormack and his girlfriend were biking along the South Platte River near downtown Denver when they stopped to explore an area near where a homeless camp had been. The couple was approached by a person self-identifying as a railroad police officer who informed McCormack he was being arrested for trespassing and radioed for backup.Talty, one of the Denver police officers who responded, repeatedly told McCormack that he needed to “stop” and “relax” du...Amy Schumer, Michael Douglas, Billy Crystal and more celebs call for release of hostages taken by Hamas

Punk’s not dead– and we’re not just talking about the pioneers who are still out there touring and ranting about angst and rebellion (even though they look like–and for the most part are– gray-haired dads and even grand-dads). There’s a slew of new, noisy, nasty young-uns whipping up pits at parties and shows these days, ensuring the hardcaore music cycle’s survival. The coolest part? The kids are getting inspired by the old guys in the first place. At Punk In The Park, the two-day Orange County music and beer festival that takes over Oak Canyon Park, a hefty dose of both will rock a multi-generational crowd on three stages amidst other amusements like a beer tasting event and pro-skater ramp spectacle set-up from Vans. The OGs will get to shine under the local sunshine where most of them grew up, making it a sort of celebration of Cali punk: Hermosa Beach’s Pennywise headline Saturday alongside LA’s own Circle Jerks, while Manhattan Beach’s Descendents and LA’s Goldfinger rock Sunda...Former Santa Clara Mayor Patricia Mahan dies at age 71
